Shelby, Elise, Madilyn (whom you can only see the top of her head), Kathryn, Grace, Adria, Reese, Kerra, Ember, and Casen.  Ember taught the kids how to make candy turkeys with Reese's and Reese's Pieces and frosting.

This was a nice day with excellent food and great visiting with family.  Unfortunately, after hardly eating anything Valette randomly threw up in Eric's truck when they went to get something from the house.  Poor kid was sick the rest of the day.

I love this portrait.  I think it's dang good, if I do say so myself.

Here was the comparison. I did this when Abbi was a baby, so we recreated and here is the side-by-side of her growth.

I asked Valette the beginning of August what she wanted to be for Halloween. She came up with Snow White (which she had never seen) in about five minutes and would not change her mind. So that is what I made.

Lara Family Portraits 

 Valette loves her cousins.

All the grand babies are girls in our family.

 So. I curled my hair for 45 minutes just before this. All gone by the time we arrived. So unfair.

I have now finally learned what products and tools make curls stay in my hair.  It is glorious.

Cabin Trip with Casey and Celeste

 Eric had to work up north about once a month, so we would make a weekend of it and go to the cabin all together.

 The kids love all the walks we take at the cabin.

In June I took Valette to a friend and she had her first haircut. It had been growing so unevenly, the back of her hair was a perfect v with length in the middle and the sides all the way up by her shoulders. The haircut made her look so grown up.
Now, a year later, it's about the length it was when we cut it, but all over. Mission accomplished.
