Alert Everyone!

I found a hair product that actually works! It's amazing, and I didn't have to spend 20 bucks at a salon to get it =)

The first time I tried to use this stuff I discovered that my curling iron (which belonged to my mom and is probably 15 years old) was broken, it wouldn't heat up, so I had to buy a new one. But boy am I glad it broke, this is the first time I've ever had a new curling iron--it works miracles. I officially love it. It wasn't even expensive, 14 bucls at Target, woohoo.

This product I found is called Tresemme 24 hour body. It works miracles. And it was 4 dollars at Wal-mart. My hair is stick straight and stubborn, a normal curl with globs of hairspray might last half an hour....maybe, if I'm lucky. But the 24 hour business is no joke.

So basically:

this

plus these

Made this:

(ignore the face, we are admiring curls right now)

So I just wanted to let people know that this stuff is pretty much amazing, and it was easy to use.

The Best Kind of Gifts

Yesterday was my dad, Milton Lawlor's birthday. It is an absolute miracle he was here to celebrate it. This past year in September my dad got really sick, drove home from work where my mom turned around and took him straight to the hospital, it took them almost a week to decide, but it turned out he had pancreatitis. Which essentially meant 1. his pancreas was eating itself, 2. he wasn't really digesting anything, and 3. he was in ALOT of pain. He spent over five weeks in the hospital, came really close to dying 3 times, had major surgery, and after he went home he still needed weeks of rest. He wasn't able to return to work until the middle of January. He's been doing pretty great, he just gets tired really quickly. He lost over 30 pounds when he was sick and still hasnt't gained it back.

The big deal is, we got to keep him. What a gift. My dad is a really hard worker. He's kind and thoughtful. He loves everyone. He is a firm believer in work. He never takes a break (discounting the recent pancreas incident ;> ). He is very strong in the Gospel. My dad has always been an example to me. He taught his children important truths and life lessons. But he didn't skip out on the temporal needs like changing the oil in the car or building a book case, or the electrical in the house, in my case he was the editor of everythingI've ever written for school or church talks or whatever I needed. Now my brothers were all into the building stuff more, but I can carve a mean decoration out of wood and paint it. hahaha. ok, dumb, but i did used to go out in the shop and use my dad's scrap wood peices to make amazing useless things with his electric saws. I still love the smell of sawdust. That I definitely got from my dad.

This is Dad over a year ago, before all this craziness happened. Here he was working on the new carport of their house--they turned the old carport into a new family room.

I love you Dad. Thank you for all your lessons.

Just becuase.

Sunday night after family dinner the kids were all everywhere playing and I was in the kitchen with two of my sisters talking and making cookies. At one point I noticed these two and ran fror my camera.

This is Shelby and Chase sitting on her mini-couch enjoying their toys together, they even smiled for me. What cute kids.

Also, these are some more of my random pictures:

I'll admit this is supposed to be a flower-filled spot of earth on my patio, but in black and white I thought these weeds had a pleasing aesthetic appeal, the sun was actually STILL UP when I got home from work and I wanted to use the opportunity, these were close at hand.

I think my favorite composition is the middle one. Good angles, triangles are strong shapes--so they fit in the corners, and the highlights are the most interesting and eye-catching.

For a Change...

On Saturday Eric had a load of homework, so I thought I should leave the house to make sure he wasn't TOO distracted by me. I called over to my brothers house and asked if my niece Ashton could come go with me for jamba juice. It was quite the drive, (all the way to Queen Creek) but definitely worth the great fun. Ashton and I hung out for most of the afternoon we went to target and then looked at model homes for decorating ideas. Eric called and thought Ashton should spend the night so we went to her house gathered her things and headed back for home.

Eric had fun showing Ashton all of his cool tricks on his new Star Wars game, then let her have at it with the controller. She liked the lightning, what a sith. Then we watched the movie of Ashton's choice, Stardust, and stayed up for a few hours giggling and slap happy. Hahaha. What a night.

At bed time, I came out of the bathroom to find Eric and Ashton doing this:

Yeah, THAT looks like sleep. It was funny. I'm really so glad that Eric is such friends with all my nieces and nephews (there's a bunch). He loves kids, he can't wait til we can have our own. I love him so much, I'm so grateful for the man that he is. He's taught me alot about being care free and just having a good time.

Good Habits.

Eric and I decided to join a gym. Actually, I decided that we should look into a gym again. Eric used to go all the time before his mission, but when he came home he got out of the habit, then he met me and had no time for exercise.

So we are being good healthy people. Gonna go a few times a week as often as we can. I need to get more energy. I always fall asleep if I just sit still, I'm hoping some cardio will help me be more normal scheduled.

Also, Eric bought a new video game, star wars something or other, and I actually like it. ;>

Date Night

On Saturday we went with Casey and Celeste out for a date night. It was Celeste's idea, we scootered around (maybe half of) Tempe Town Lake. The sun was just barely setting, there was a light breeze, and the downhills were fun to cruise. ;> Celeste was the smart one to remember her camera and we enjoyed the free entertainment. We of course went out to eat after...so not quite a free night, but it was definitely good. Then we finished up with some Office at their house. Celeste and I used to work together and that was always way fun, but this semester the accelerated program she's in is super busy so she had to quit working--we were really glad for a chance to hang out again since it had been so long.
Also, I have seen better, but the sky behind us is pretty cool, it was preparing for the over night rain.
