Memorial Weekend

We spent Saturday and Sunday up north with my family and my best friend Rachael and her family. They were camping and we slept at the Cabin--which is just fine by me. Why EVER go camping when you can sleep in a warm cabin with TWO bathrooms?!!! It was rainy, so we spent alot of time inside, but it was definitely a good time. Yesterday we hiked from the campsite over to the sink hole and took some pictures, then everyone but Eric and I walked to the rim, which was over 2 miles each way. They were SO tired when they got back, and it started raining again just when everyone was reaching the campsite. Almost perfect timing ;> So here are some pictures of my very cool weekend--seriously, it was 56 degrees with the sun out!

We swapped the cameras so Mom could be in it =)

This is Eric's definition of taking Shelby for a walk, although she wanted down right away.

This is Josh wanting Shelby to take a nap. Ha. Dream on.

I really like this one. I'm so glad we took it.

Self Esteem

Have you ever noticed that in times of stress or especially big blows to your feelings of self worth you always want a change? For girls I think anytime you get scolded for something dumb at work or break up with a boyfriend (yay for no more of that, go marriage, woot woot), or when you are just feeling low, you want to change something about the way you look. I swear it never fails, feel down, get a hair cut. Boom. Problem solved for like a half an hour. At least. People will give you compliments or notice you for the first time. For me, this is like curling my hair, Eric would be very put out if I cut it short, not that I was planning on it. And this time I wasn't even feeling down to begin with, I was just thinking about all the compliments I got at work today for just curling my hair. Immediate morale booster. Thank you. I'm not jumping on a soap box here, just pointing out an observation. Anyway here are some pictures of my all-day long-lasting curls. Thanks to the new curling iron and tresemme 24 hour products I discussed earlier.

Somehow I always look better in black and white. Never fails.

It's about TIME

It's basically a month early, but I told Eric about this clock that I was admiring from Hobby Lobby but couldn't get because it was never on sale. Eric decided he wanted to get it for our anniversary, we ended up going together to get it because Eric couldn't find it without me and when he told me he was planning on this we went early for fear they would run out--I'm glad we did because there were only three left AND there was a 50% off sale, woohoo. So, moral of the story, Happy Anniversary to us, and this clock is amazing.

I'm sorry it's a bad photo, I had to turn the flash off.....but it is a DANG cute clock.

I don't like how I look in this photo, but we have so few of us together, I thought I should include it for randomness. I love Eric.

It only took 5 months....

I finally finished unpacking, and by that, I mean I actually decorated in our front room. Are you ready for the best decorating job I've ever done? I admit, it sounds boasty, but i'm only comparing to myself, so no worries.
This is the before:

I know it's pretty drab, we really only took out the favorite books, and left it for 4 months....

This is the after. I know it's small, the biggest thing you can notice from this photo is that it's much more full. I think the big L is my favorite. If there are any pointers out there, please, let me know.

I'm really quite proud of it =)
